How to restore a windows pc to a previous state.
Hello If u are here that means u are looking for a way to restore your computer to a previous state. Maybe you mistakenly
unistalled a program or a system malfunction that can be fixed by restoring to a previous state. So lets get this done.
For WINDOWS 7 and later
method 1
There are many ways to do this,
If your system boots to desktop,
Go to control panel,
Change the category to small icons and click on recovery,
Click on open system restore,
You have to know the date you want to restore your system to,
I usually click the choose a different restore point so that i will see more than one restore point, then choose the date
of the restore you want and proceed,
after choosing your desired restore point click next and then finish, your system will restart and will be restored to the
restore point you chose.
Method 2
but if your system don’t boot to desktop,
Start you system, after displaying your PC logo, press and hold the f8 key on your keyboard, you will see many options,
navigate to repair your computer and strike enter, your system will start loading files, after that you will be required to
choose a keyboard layout and login with your password if your system is password protected or just click login
Click on the second option which is repair your system and follow the specified procedures stated above to complete system
restore.
Note: If u perform restore by using the second option you can’t undo the operation so be careful about the restore point
you choose
For WINDOWS XP
If your system boots to desktop comfortably, use method 1
But if not
Start you system, after displaying your PC logo,
press and hold the f8 key on your keyboard,
you will see many options,
navigate to start system in safe mode and strike enter,
windows will load files and boot in safe mode
after booting in safe mode you will be prompted that windows is running on safe mode, you proceed with safe mode by clicking
yes or go to system restore by click no
click no and it will automatically start system restore program,
choose the date you want to restore your system and click next after following the procedure, your system will restart and
will be restored to the restore point you chose.
